US reissues North Korea travel warning, removes obsolete COVID-19 page links

Do not travel to North Korea due to the continuing serious risk of arrest and long-term detention of U.S. nationals.

However, in January 2010, North Korea lifted the restrictions on American citizens who are now free to visit at any time of the year.

Foreigners can enter North Korea either by air or by train. It is not possible to enter North Korea from South Korea or to enter South Korea from North Korea.

SEOUL – The Biden administration has to decide by the end of the month whether to renew a ban on U.S. travel to North Korea.
